What storage challenges were in the cottage bedroom?
A small bedroom presents enough storage challenges on its own, but added to this were some unique obstructions for the Sliderobes design and installation team, including an exposed beam, a front to back sloped ceiling and access to a hot press required – so it was no mean feat to get a storage solution to work around all these obstacles! Thankfully, these sorts of obstructions are all in a day’s work for our skilled team.
Oonagh commented, “We asked four companies to design storage with our specs in mind, each with sliding doors. One failed to take into account the inner storage, another failed to send us a price. The third company had a similar price to Sliderobes but Sliderobes were the only company who ‘hit the nail on the head’. Our designer Sharon listened to exactly what we wanted and came up with the perfect wardrobe for our bedroom.”
How Sliderobes saved the day
Oonagh’s designer set to work, and was able to design a fitted wardrobe using the awkward area of the room which included the beam, sloped ceiling and the hot press. The new wardrobe features plenty of useful interior space in a beautiful natural oak finish, including drawers, shelving and hanging rails whilst also fitting a sleek pull out panel at the back of the wardrobe to give access to the hot press when needed – clever! Sliding doors are hugely beneficial to smaller rooms, as they don’t need the additional floor space that hinged doors require to swing open, making them the perfect choice for this cottage master bedroom remodel.
“The installation of our Sliderobes was exciting! We couldn’t believe how quickly they were installed. Glen was a no-fuss, neat & professional worker. We were stunned at the final result. Six weeks on and we can’t imagine how we lived any other way. A place for everything and everything in its place! Sliderobes prices may, on initial examination, seem a little dearer than others, however, when you examine what you are paying for it is well worth it.”
Oonagh chose a three door design which included a silver mirror door for practical reasons (light reflecting in a small space, plus removing the need for a free standing mirror which would use up more floor space), and two classic pearl white glass doors, with cross strips and natural oak frames, which ties in perfectly with the rest of her cottage décor.
Next steps for Oonagh
Now that Oonagh has her dream bedroom storage, and even has some floor space to spare thanks to the great design by Sliderobes, she’s on the lookout for a colourful statement chair to complete her bedroom makeover. If you have any suggestions, please send them this way!
