This guide contains some useful tips on general maintenance to help you care for your SLIDEROBES® unit, and ensure you get the most from your new furniture. It also includes some cleaning instructions, which are intended to be used as a practical guide to caring for and looking after your furniture – this doesn’t rule out the use of other cleaning methods, materials or equipment, however, if unsure about a new cleaning product, always test it in an inconspicuous area first. We have been installing SLIDEROBES® sliding door wardrobes for over 30 years, and with the correct care your new SLIDEROBES® furniture will look fantastic for years to come.
General Maintenance Guide
Keep the floor track clean and clear of obstructions to ensure free movement of the doors. If you have not chosen our soft closing doors then always use the frame when moving the doors to prevent fingers being caught. Do not walk on the track as you may affect its level, which may cause the doors to roll out of place. Never attempt to make major repairs without the advice and the assistance of one of our SLIDEROBES® experts.
General cleaning guide
Before cleaning your SLIDEROBES® unit, take a general purpose cleaning cloth and rinse thoroughly in water to ensure there are no foreign objects contained within it. Ensure you wring out the general purpose cleaning cloth to remove excess water. Use a mild soap and water solution. Wipe over the SLIDEROBES® unit surface gently, do not rub. Avoid the use of strong detergents and glass cleaners. Use only products which contain natural ingredients. Dry the surface using the soft polishing cloth provided by SLIDEROBES®. You should replace your e-cloth when it’s worn or damaged (available at many leading supermarkets).
Cleaning Glass and Mmirror
DO use non-abrasive glass cleaners to clean your glass/mirror. Always check the cleaning agent label.
DON’T use cleaners which contain hydrofluoric or phosphoric acid as they are corrosive to the glass/mirror surface.
DON’T clean glass/mirror when the surface is warm due to being in direct sunlight.
DON’T use abrasive cleaners, powder based cleaners, scouring pads or other harsh materials.
DON’T use a blade or scraper to remove paint. If required investigate solvents or paint removal materials, ensuring that they will not damage the glass/mirror..
Cleaning High Gloss Finishes
DO use the special general purpose cleaning cloth and polishing cloth left by us for cleaning your SLIDEROBES® unit. You should replace your e-cloth when it’s worn or damaged (available at many leading supermarkets).
DO use water to clean your SLIDEROBES® unit.
DO keep surfaces dry at all times.
DON’T use furniture polish.
DON’T use vinegar based detergents, solvents, abrasive detergents, white spirits or furniture polish.
DON’T use abrasive cleaning tools/sponges.
DON’T use steam cleaning tools.
Please note that polishing high-gloss vinyl surfaces may leave minor scratches and polish marks. This is normal with this type of finish.
Cleaning Specialty Finishes (e.g. aluminium, fur, leatherette)
DO use a soft cloth and gently wipe.
DO use a soft brush or vacuum cleaner to remove dust.
DON’T use abrasive cleaning substances
To clean your freestanding furniture, follow the same instructions detailed in the “Caring for your SLIDEROBES® unit” section. All freestanding furniture requires the same care to keep its appearance so please follow these additional instructions.
General Freestanding Furniture Care

(General Freestanding Furniture Care )
We want you to get the most from your new SLIDEROBES® accessories, so you should only use them for the purpose for which they were intended. For example, trouser racks are for trousers, even scarves or saris but not for motorbike leathers and tie racks are for ties but are also good for storing belts and necklaces. Doing this will prolong the life of your accessories, allowing you to get maximum enjoyment from them. When cleaning your accessories you should only use a dry cloth - do not use water.
You should take care not to overload your accessories, as this could irreparably damage them. For a guide to load bearing capacity, follow these guidelines:
|Drawers/Wire baskets||Max load: 25kg.|
|Pull down rails||10kg: Min load: 1.6kg / Max load: 10kg.

LED Hanging Rail
If you ordered a LED Hanging Rail it will be fully installed by your SLIDEROBES® fitter and ready for use. If you wish to turn it off follow the instructions below. When you open your SLIDEROBES® sliding door wardrobe, the LED hanging rail will illuminate automatically. It will stay illuminated for approx 45 seconds, and then automatically switch itself off to conserve energy.
Control panel explained:
a. Position ‘O’ is OFF – the unit is switched off and will not function.
b. Position ‘I’ is ON – the unit is switched on and functional.
When you notice the LEDs on your hanging rail starting to dim, you must recharge it. Follow these step-by-step instructions to recharge the unit properly:
Step 1: Using the charger and 7m cable which was supplied with your SLIDEROBES® LED hanging rail, plug the 3.5mm connector into the charging socket on the control panel of your LED hanging rail. Use only the charger supplied – not doing so could damage your device.
Step 2: Plug the other end of the 7m cable (USB plug) into the USB socket on the power supply unit.
Step 3: Plug the charger into your nearest plug socket and switch on. The indicator light will illuminate RED.
Step 4: When the indicator light changes to GREEN, switch it off and remove the charger. This can take up to eight hours.
Note: The movement sensor should be kept clear at all times to ensure the unit works properly.
Caring for your LED Hanging Rail
Keep the charger and cable together in a safe place.
Only use the supplied charger and charging cable when recharging your LED hanging rail.
Keep the sensor free from hangers for optimum performance.
The maximum permissible load on this rail is 50kg.
Keep dry at all times.
The LEDs are NOT replaceable.
Batteries are NOT replaceable, just rechargeable.
Do not press on the sensor cover as this could damage the unit.
LED Drawer Light
If you ordered freestanding furniture with a LED Drawer Light, you should receive it fully fitted and ready to use. It has been fitted with 4xAAA batteries, and when the LEDs start to dim, you must replace the batteries. To do so, follow these step-by-step instructions:
Step 1: Remove the two end battery covers by sliding them outwards.
Step 2: Remove the old batteries, disposing of them carefully. Insert 4 new AAA batteries, ensuring they have been inserted correctly.
Step 3: Re-fit the battery covers by sliding them into position.
Caring for your LED Drawer Light

Do not mix different types of batteries i.e. new and used batteries are not to be mixed within the unit.
Always insert new batteries in the correct orientation.

Do not position LED Drawer Light directly under spot lights as this will adversely affect its functionality.
